Writer's picture: Plum and PetalPlum and Petal

After a busy few months during the wedding season, things are finally starting to settle down. So, we thought now would be the perfect time to launch a little blog for all you wonderful brides and grooms to-be and even for our fellow florist friends to enjoy! Our goal is to fill this space with floral wedding inspiration, helpful tips, tricks, and everything in between. We’re aiming to post twice a month, so be sure to check back regularly to stay up to date with the latest content!

ABOUT PLUM & PETAL

We thought it would be fitting to kick off our first post by sharing a little bit about ourselves - Melanie and Hollie, the florists behind Plum and Petal! Since launching our business in 2022, we’ve been learning and growing each day, and we’re so grateful for this journey. Working creatively as a mother-daughter duo has been an incredible experience, and having the opportunity to bring our vision to life for all you wonderful couples is truly magical!

Plum and Petal owners

We both hold full degrees in Floristry Design from Bishop Burton University, where we studied for three years. This academic foundation has been invaluable as we’ve built our business, but we’ve found that some of the most important lessons come from hands-on experience and navigating the unique challenges of entrepreneurship.

Currently, we design all of our floral creations from our home-based studio. From there, we hit the road with your beautiful arrangements, delivering them wherever your special day takes us!

THE PLUM & PETAL STYLE

We like to describe our Plum and Petal style as romantic, elegant, and timeless. In essence, this means we aim to create floral arrangements that beautifully complement the love and joy of weddings and special events. Our goal is to ensure that our designs never feel dated, even years down the line, by blending classic floristry techniques with a contemporary touch. We are drawn to softer tones and seasonal blooms, and have a particular fondness for garden roses—something you’ll notice is a signature element in many of our creations!
